Ilyasoglu is the leader of the Evil Eyes Market

Where everybody is importing from China and India, we are selling our products to these countries. Ilyasoglu started business with very small amounts of production and sales in 1976. Now it is a company exporting its products to 72 countries. Jewelry with turkish handicrafts, keychains, percussions, wall decorations and belly dancing costumes are just part of their exports. On the other hand, Ilyasoglu dominates the 70% of the local market and establishes its domestic sales by sales to Grand Bazaar and free-shops all around the country. Ilyasoglu’s production consists of jewelry, keychains and all kinds of evil eyes. For percussions, belly dancing costumes and backgammons, they have different factories and workshops that they work with. The monthly production of evil eyes is around 200-250 thousand pieces which is manufactered in 28 different workshops and houses with 2500 people. The company is marketing its products by adding new items to their web site every 2 weeks. Mr.Nafi Ervaron is telling us that they need the help of everyone in designing new products, and currently they are holding about 8700 items. The company is also manufacturing gold and silver evil eyes jewelry for about 8 years, and these production is only for export. The company’s yearly export is around 3-4 million usd. Mr.Ervaron is telling us that Turkey’s evil eyes export is much more thinking about also all the other companies in the domestic market which also buys from them and make exports.

Mr.Ervaron continued: "Evil eyes are very highly demaned in the international market and we received quotation from America’s largest chain market stores with over than 1200 stores "Target” for sales of evil eyes. He said: "Although everybody is importing from Far East, mainly China and India, we are exporting our products there.” The company is attending international fairs all around the world. They are attending JA New York Show, Ambiente Housewares show in Frankfurt and Hong Kong Housewares Show. Ilyasoglu, on the other hand is also attending Zuchex International Housewares Show (Istanbul) for many years.

His final words were: "We are not that interested in the local market, however we need to attend the Zuchex show. That is because international visitors who come to the Show want to see and buy products which reflect our own culture.
